HIGHER STUDIES IN USA

By: Rahul Kumar

The MBA is quickly becoming one of the most important credentials in the business world-and in lots of other industries, too. Your GMAT score is probably the most important factor in determining whether you will be admitted to a top business school in U.S.A.

There are many kinds of MBA programs; the two-year full time MBA programs are usually four semesters, spread over two academic years, with a three- or four-month break for an internship.

The first year includes core courses required of all MBA's.The second year allows for functional specialization (a specific concentration of study and elective courses).this kind of full-time programs have several advantages for both career switchers (who change job functions or industries) and career enhancers (who continue in the same job function or industry).one can customize course work through electives and concentrations.
Before you consider a two-year, full-time program, one should be confident about what you wish to do in the future and willing to commit the necessary time and resources to furthering these goals.

The second kind of MBA offered in the U.S. is One-year programs which are dramatically different from their two-year counterparts. They usually have very strict prerequisites for either work background or academic training. Here Students do not work full-time; school is considered the first priority.

Part-time MBA programs are designed for working professionals. Most part-time MBA’s work full-time during the day and attend classes in the evening. Some schools offer both a full-time and a part-time program. Part-time programs are popular among career enhancers (who have a good foundation of experience and want to further their career in a chosen field). They are also good if you already have a network in your field to aid in a job change. These short programs may offer some geographic flexibility if you are unable or unwilling to relocate. The major benefit is that the cost is spread over a longer period of time and is easy to pay for as one earns.

University of Pennsylvania Wharton, North-western University Kellogg, Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan, Duke University, Cornell University Johnson, Stanford university, university of California, New York university, are some of the top U.S. MBA institutes.
